  • 1.  Finding Tract Level Total Workers for ACS 5 Year 2017 Data

    Posted 10-04-2021 05:44 PM

    Hello Everyone,

I have downloaded the B08202 table at Tract Level for the 2017 ACS 5 Year data. The extent I am looking at is for all tracts in all New Mexico Counties plus all tracts in El Paso County, TX.

I am able to derive the Total Workers for all subcategories except for HH size 4 or more with 3 or more workers. The file looks at everything primarily in terms of HHs, rather than workers. Since I have all other subcategories figured out, I could derive the final subcategory if I had the Total number of Workers within HHs for each Tract. I am not sure why this appears to be unavailable as it represents no privacy issues as far as I can tell.

    Thank You,

    David

    hi David--

I had to look at this table to figure out what you wanted. (ha, okay.)

Yes, there is a cumulative total of workers in households. Use the total found in ACS table B08141

Thank You Todd. I downloaded B08141 from the Census and did the math for the final category. It has good face value.
