Hi all, I hope everyone is healthy.

Here is my question.

These two tables (P1, 2020: DEC Redistricting Data (PL 94-171), and DP05 (2020: ACS 5-Year Estimates Data Profiles)) show that there are at least 757 Black or African American people in Allegany county, possibly more.

On the other hand, this table (B11001B) show that there are 19 households with a householder who is Black or African American and this table (B11002B) shows 29 people in family households with a householder who is Black or African American.

That is, while there are at least 757 Black or African American people in Allegany county, there are only 19 households with a Black or African American householder, and only 29 people living in family households with a Black or African American householder.

That means that 96% of Black or African American people in Allegany county are living in conditions that are NOT households with a Black or African American householder. Is that correct? Am I misunderstanding something?

This table shows 19 households with a householder who is Black or African American in Allegany county, including only 9 family households, and 10 non family households.

Another table shows 29 people in family households with a householder who is Black or African American.

Well there are 4,500 people in group quarters there mostly college dorms could that be where a lot of your Black population is? data.rgj.com/.../

Ah, got it. Table p29b shows 523 Black or African American alone, including 144 in family households, and 302 living in non-institutionalized group quarters. Table pct20b also shows 333 Black or African American in group quarters, including 294 in colleges or universities. Thanks very much!
