How can I obtain latitude and longitude numbers for census tracts? I would think that this lat/long address would be the centerpoint for the census tract.

Census TIGER shapefiles have columns with centroid coordinates. You can download them here: https://www.census.gov/cgi-bin/geo/shapefiles/index.php?year=2021&layergroup=Census+Tracts

If you're not able to use shapefiles, you can open just the .dbf file in the package in a spreadsheet program like Excel.

You can get from MCDC, here: https://mcdc.missouri.edu/cgi-bin/broker?_PROGRAM=utils.uex2dex.sas&path=/data/gazeteer&dset=ustracts2021&view=0

Make sure to "keep all columns" in Section 3, then just extract data.
