Hello! I am trying to determine the value of inherited real estate (esp. primary residences) over time. Does the ACS have any relevant data?

In ACS there are variables for ownership that include "Housing units with a mortgage" and "Housing units without a mortgage." But there are no variables on inheritance. Try the Survey of Consumer Finances?

"Housing units without a mortgage" is a gem of a variable. We were able to use it to show that in Philadelphia, there are low-income neighborhoods with a high rate of free-and-clear homeownership, which is interesting and has policy implications (such as on property tax policy)
