Will there be an early embargoed release of the summary files?

Hi Glenn, No, the embargo access does not include access to the FTP site and thus does not include the Summary File. The 2019-2023 ACS 5-year Summary File will be available with the public release on December 12.

Caleb, are you sure about that? This would be a change from all previous years. I'm quite sure I was able to download the Summary File via embargo access last year. My downloaded file is dated 12/5/23, two days before the public release. It's a different access point from the public FTP site. As I recall, there's a parallel server with files available for embargo access, which we're able access after web authentication.

The press kit does mention early access for embargo users:

    www.census.gov/.../acs-5-year.html

Embargo subscribers will have access to these statistics from Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. EST, to Thursday, Dec. 12, at 12:01 a.m. EST.

    So that answers my question.

Hi Glenn and Jonathan, the embargo release is available at this time and the 2019-2023 ACS 5-year Summary File is available in this embargo. My apologies for the confusion, I am confirming that the summary file is available. Thank you!
