I want to compare race and ethnicity in CVAP (county-level) to voting-related data, such as
- number or percentage of voters whose registrations are cancelled in a given time frame (data source is the TX Secretary of State)
- percentage of voters in "Suspense" status (data source is either the TX Secretary of State, or individual counties)
I am looking for possible correlations with the racial background of CVAP. For example: whether the percentage of CVAP which is Black/African American is correlated to the percentage of voters cancelled in a given year.
Ideally, I would have a CVAP estimate associated with each calendar year which can be compared to cancellations that occurred within the same year.
What is the right time frame to compare? For example; if I have the percentage of registrations cancelled in 2023, should I compare with the CVAP from 2019-2023?
