    Does anyone know if unemployment rates are available at the MSA-level by gender? I'm trying to compare men's and women's unemployment rates.

    Is your problem that MSA's are greyed out and not available in the list of geographies if you first pick the 2012 1-year sample from the FactFinder? Click "Geographies" and then go to the "Name" tab and pick "Metro/Micro Area" under "Type". Then you can add all MSAs in the US.

    Yes, there is an ACS detailed table with labor force status by gender (total, armed forces, civilian labor force, employed, unemployed). Look at B23001.
