ACS Data Users Group

Attached is a metadata file for both the 2014 1-year and 5-year I created from the ACS 1- year Seq_Table_Number_Lookup Excel file and from Glenn Rice’s modified 5-year shell file. I added fields for record (person/housing) and topic to allow for better sorting. If you would like to add more or different topics, just modify the lookup table on the Subjects tab and use a vlookup formula to update the field(s) on the meta table.

Can someone please tell me why the individual ancestry tables, B04001 to B04003, are not present in the 5 year data? I can see not providing these at the BG level (!), but we should be able to see them at, say, county level. Most annoying.

Deleted/Removed Tables

Ancestry Detailed Tables B04001, B04002, and B04003 and Collapsed Tables C04001, C04002, and C04003 have been deleted. Detailed Tables B04004, B04005, B04006, C04004, C04005, and C04006 are available alternatives.

But why? 04004, 5 and 6 are not substitutes, because they provide tabulations for individual ancestries. They're pretty much useless. I would like to know the justification for the deletion.
