  • 1.  which questions used to create which tables

    Posted 10-10-2017 11:07 AM

    Hi all

I would like to find out how this table was constructed, which questions were used.

B03001. HISPANIC OR LATINO ORIGIN BY SPECIFIC ORIGIN, Universe: Total population, 2011-2015 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates

Where can I look to find out what questions were used to construct which tables?

    Thanks

    Gene

    Hi Gene,

If you look in the Subject Definitions file found here:
    www2.census.gov/.../2015_ACSSubjectDefinitions.pdf

On page 73 it defines hispanic or latino origin and provides quite a bit of detail about how the data are derived. Also, it gives you which question the data come from - in this case the data for that table come from Question #5 on the survey.

This document is a great resource to help in understanding the various topics in the ACS data.
