    Hello,

Is there a particular CPI series I should use to adjust for Median Household Income going back to 2010?

    Here's a list of series? https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost?cu

I assumed I would select the first series (U.S. All items, 1982-84=100 - CUUR0000SA0), but there's a NYC specific series, and I'm measuring MHI in NYC.

    Thanks!

    Derek

If it's ACS data you're adjusting, they often recommend the CPI-U-RS (research series). It's available every year in Appendix A of the Income/Poverty report. Here's the link to the 2017 report (see page 26): www.census.gov/.../p60-263.pdf

Thanks! As a check, I adjusted national MHI, and the rate of growth from 2015 to 2016 matches what the Bureau reported.
