Today's Federal Register includes many calls for comment on CDC data collections, including the following:
Most of these are a second call for comments after the first round was released in fall 2024.
Many received just one comment in the first round.
If these data are important to you, consider submitting comments now.
And there are 5 more today!
Hi! Thanks for posting. It would be helpful to have an evaluation of these from people who work closely with these data if that is possible. What does this forum think about the specific changes? Is there guidance we could share out with our communities to help with sending in comments?
Agreed. I don't know all of the data sources well enough to play that role for all of them. But I know NNDS is critically important. It is so important that it's the type of "call for comments" that most people don't respond to because the need seems obvious.
This time it might be worth providing a show of support.
And there are TWENTY more today with one aimed at access to restricted use data from the National Center for Health Statistics. I'm not sure I'll get to a full accounting of the other 19 today, but you can find the full list of recently opened comment opportunities here:

Just skimming the NNDSS notice it seems pretty benign (would add some case notifications and pathogen-specific elements). I will try to review any others that I have experience with when I have a free moment.
