I know there are lots of questions about how the shutdown will affect public data, so I asked a friend and colleague, Chris, to answer some of those questions.
The very short version: minimal new data collection (mostly administrative data), very little reporting (virtually none, but a few notable exceptions), but the public can still submit comments to any open Federal Register Notices.
